Born and raised in Washington DC and Prince Georges County, Maryland area, Bernard is a proud testament that through hard work and dedication, one can set a goal and accomplish their dreams.

Bernard’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology from Coppin State University and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from St. Thomas University. Bernard is currently an EdD student focusing on Education Policy & Leadership at American University.

Bernard’s extensive background in developing and maintaining academic programs enables him to create partnerships and build relationships amongst campus communities. Bernard’s progressive background in academic and student affairs focuses on transformative learning, completing tasks and facilitating initiatives, and effectively communicating through collaboration to maintain an inclusive and results-driven leadership style. 

Bernard currently lives in Miami, Florida, and serves as an Acadmeic Success Coach at Barry University. Outside of work, Bernard loves to try new food, take pictures with his camera, and play musical instruments such as the keyboard and drums.

With the start of this school year like no other, he gives advice on how to tackle virtual learning for students and parents. He also talks about why he became an educator, the importance of having black male educators, and his hopes for the future.
